Introduction
The Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communications (GDMC) is a professional communications programme specially designed for those who wish to pursue a career in marketing communications.
This programme is proudly
developed by the Marketing Institute of Singapore, together with the Institute of Advertising Singapore (IAS) and Institute of Public Relations (IPRS).
Programme Objective
The objective of the GDMC programme is to provide the course participants with a good understanding of marketing communications as well as a sound knowledge of marketing communications tools and techniques.

This programme involves lectures, group discussions, case studies and presentations by students. Classes are usually held two to three times a week from 7.00pm to 10.00pm on weekdays or 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm on Saturdays with a total of 36 contact hours each. Weekly lectures are conducted by qualified and experienced local lecturers approved by the institute.
Examinations & Assessment
All students are required to sit for a written examination for all modules at the end of each semester. Students must fulfil the attendance requirement of at least 75% for each module before they are considered eligible to take the end-of-semester examinations.
The candidate will be allowed to sit for the supplementary examination(s) for the module(s) that they have failed in the main examination. However, a supplementary examination fee of
S$53.50 (incl. 7% GST) per module is applicable.
To repeat a failed module, a student must attend classes and pay a course fee of
S$499.35 (incl. 7% GST) per module before he/she is considered eligible to take the examinations.
There is no limit to the number of times a student may re-sit any module. However, a student must complete the GDMC course within three years of registration, which is from the commencement of the first semester.
All examination questions and the marking of scripts will be moderated and/or examined by the Marketing Institute of Singapore Board of Studies before they are released to students. The decision of the Board is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
Award of Certificate
Students who have completed all necessary course works, successfully passed all required modules and met all financial obligations to the institute shall be awarded the Graduate Diploma in Marketing Communications and be allowed to use the designatory letters “Grad Dip M C” after their name.
Entry Requirements
All applicants must possess:
- A degree or similar professional qualifications from a recognised university/institution, OR
- A diploma from a polytechnic with at least 2 years of working experience,
The Marketing Instituteof Singapore Board of Studies, Institute of Advertising Singapore and Institute of Public Relations Singapore reserve the rights to change the above requirements and selection at their sole discretion.

A non-refundable application processing fee of
S$32.10 (incl. 7% GST) is chargeable upon application and submission of documents.
The course fees cover course materials and tuition by local tutors and DOES NOT include textbooks and other miscellaneous charges, if any.
MIS, IAS & IPRS Membership
All successful applicants are required to become members of IAS, IPRS and MIS. The following discounted membership charges apply:

Withdrawal, Deferment & Refund
Marketing Institute of Singapore is also committed to adhere with full integrity the announced Marketing Institute of Singapore Refund Policy that is communicated in its student contract, student handbook, and website, amongst others. Please refer to the Refund Policy for further information.
Changes & Amendments
MIS, IAS & IPRS reserve the rights to vary, change and amend the module content, entry requirements, course fees, curriculum, examination rules and regulations, lecturers, lecture date, venue and other aspects of the course at any time prior to and during the running of the modules.
Application Procedures:
An applicant must complete the prescribed GDMC application form and return it together with the following documents:
- CERTIFIED TRUE COPIES of educational certificates/degrees/diplomas Certification may be made by your company or at Marketing Institute of Singapore, in which case, the originals must be presented for verification.
- Two passport-sized photographs.
- A crossed cheque of
S$32.10 (incl. 7% GST) for the application processing fee (non-refundable) made payable to “MIS Training Centre”.
Payment by Cash, NETS and credit cards are accepted at the institute
