Northumbria University – Newcastle Business School has recently released their latest rankings for 2010. They are:
- The 2008 National Student Survey showed 84% of students are satisfied with the quality of their course at Northumbria, exceeding the national average. (Latest Results)
- The university has been awarded five National Teaching Fellowships in recognition of excellent teaching.
- Northumbria hosts a Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning which focuses on assessment for learning.
- The university was highly commended in the latest QAA Institutional Audit (April 2005) for innovation in student-centred assessment and learning, use of its virtual learning environment to support flexible and blended learning and for its student support.
- Placed in the “First Division” of British Universities in the Daily Telegraph University League Table 2001, 2002, and 2003.
- Named "Best New University" for three consecutive years in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2006 (Sunday Times).
- Ranked as Top modern university by The Times Good University Guide in 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2005.
- All courses were awarded a minimum of 20 out of 24 points by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
- 7th for Librarianship and Information Management program, 24th for Hospitality, Leisure, Recreation, Sport and Tourism degree courses, 28th for Art and Design courses (Times 2009).
And more specifically, for Newcastle Business School:
- The release of the Times Good University Guide 2010 has seen some extremely positive news for Newcastle Business School.
- In Accounting & Finance, Newcastle Business School were ranked 30th, and in Business Studies, we achieved a ranking of 49th out of 110.
- In both of these cases, the results represented a climb of 16 positions from last year, which is a significant improvement.
- Professor Paul Croney, Dean of Newcastle Business School, commented, “these results are a fantastic achievement and demonstrate the excellent student learning experience that exists at Newcastle Business School. It is very clear that our reputation is growing and Newcastle Business School is becoming recognised by the key university league tables as one of the leading business schools in the UK."
