Disability Policy
The Marketing Institute of Singapore Training Centre (MIS Training Centre) has a responsibility to be non-discriminatory towards disabled students and to provide equal access and opportunity to the curriculum.

Admission to all students depends upon the prospective pupil meeting the academic criteria to ensure they will thrive at the MIS Training Centre.

MIS Training Centre must also feel reasonably sure that it will be able to educate and develop the prospective pupil to the best of their potential and in line with the general standards achieved by the pupil's peers, so that there is every chance that the pupil will have a complete and successful school career. These criteria must continue to be met throughout the pupil's time in the Institute. The Institute has reviewed the admissions policies and procedures and has adapted its application form (to be treated as confidential) to enable the Institute to gather further details of the nature and effect of any disability so as to enable it to consider any adjustments it might need to make. Additionally, the Institute will continue its policy of encouraging disabled pupils to take part in the activities on offer where appropriate. In support of these aims, the following action will be taken:
  • The Institute will continue to consider the accessibility of the curriculum to disabled pupils, calling on qualified support as required.
  • Staff will report on whether their classrooms are optimally organised for disabled pupils.
  • Heads of Departments will be required to consider with their departments whether the teaching styles used are sufficiently responsive to pupil diversity.
  • Staff in charge of student activities will consider how to improve participation by disabled pupils.
  • Systems will continue to be reviewed to ensure that any disabilities are taken in to consideration in the selection process.
  • Consideration will be given to the use of large print, audio tape, overhead projectors and white boards.
  • Staff will be trained to use any new technology and equipment which is introduced to achieve this aim.
  • Where necessary, a buddy will be assigned to the disabled student to assist him while in the Institute.
